All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood.
21st February International Mother Language Day is in fact a day of movement for mother tongue. But I would call it a day of celebration. Because language is the medium of expression. In my mother tongue I can better articulate my thoughts and myself.
There is no other alternative to mother, mother tongue and motherland! Cursing English will not make our language live. For that we all have to work together.
You love the mother tongue. Brother! The purpose of this day is also our mother tongue. We are all connected from far and wide because of our mother tongue.
Where the sun does not reach, the poet reaches ... but, where the poet does not reach, Gujarati reaches.
And that is why .. Yes, on the occasion of today's 'World Mother Language Day', best wishes to all of you .. !!
Today we see parents competing to teach their children in English medium. Does a child studying in Gujarati fail to make progress or make a career? What medium can be good for a child? Why have you put your children in Gujarati medium for study? Many such questions naturally arise in the mind.

Based on my 3 years of experience with the organization 'Pratham' working in the field of education, today I am realizing that children should get education in their mother tongue and today I am also following this. I asked a brother if there was any special reason to teach your child in English medium? So his answer was that I studied in a government primary school. But the children of all the people in my group are studying in English medium so I also made this decision. However, education in the mother tongue is essential for the culture to survive. It is also a reality that my children have to work hard not to be affected by the outside environment as well as to maintain the culture.
Is it true that putting children in English medium has an effect on their development? This is true to some extent for parents who teach in English medium. A friend of mine first put his child in English medium but that child had a hard time learning the language. I advised my friend to teach that child in Gujarati medium. Today that child has seen a good result.
However it is also true that some parents put their child in English medium just for the sake of appearance and status. The ideological process of the rest of the child develops only through the teaching of the mother tongue. How important is the economic aspect in English medium? Parents who are wealthy do not teach in English medium. A friend of mine who comes from a normal family, however, teaches his children in English medium. They do this in the hope that they will get a job easily if we just teach in English medium. Appearance is also an important factor.
“Son! Get up early, have breakfast and barely learn. Your exam starts from yesterday. If you don't learn, you will be left behind and your friends will be forwarded. So take a fast bath and freshen up. If so, I have made hot-thepla for you and your tea is also getting cold. ” What do we call the language a mother speaks to her child in her English medium? Vibrant Gujarati…?
