Abul Pakir Jainulabaddin Abdul Kalam was born on 15 October 191 in Rameshwaram, Tamil Nadu to a Muslim family. His father Jainulabaddin was a sailor and his mother Ashiamma was a housewife. From the father came the virtues of honesty and self-discipline, and from the mother the virtues of faith and compassion in God. This became the inspiration for the creativity of his life. Dr. Education of A P J Abdul Kalam: -
During his school days, Dr. Abdul Kalam was normal in teaching but always ready and eager to learn something new. He was hungry to learn and he concentrated on teaching for hours. He did his schooling from Ramanathapuram Schwartz Matriculation School and then studied at St. Joseph's College, Tiruchirappalli, from where he graduated in Physics in 1954. Then in the year 1955 he went to Madras from where he studied aerospace engineering. Kalam completed his engineering studies from the Madras Institute of Technology in 1960. His father wanted him to become a collector, but Kalam was interested in astronomy. From an early age he was fascinated by the secrets of birds flying in the sky.
In student life he was very much influenced by his teachers. He had a special attachment to his high school teacher Aydurai Solomon; Because Solomon knew the potential in the students, their abilities and strengths, and was motivated to grow them.

After completing his engineering studies from the Madras Institute of Technology, Kalam joined the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) as a scientist. Dr. Kalam started his career by designing a small helicopter for the Indian Army. But Dr. Kalam was not getting satisfaction from working in DRDO. Dr. Kalam was also a member of the Indian Space Research Committee formed by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru.

During this time he was introduced to the famous astronomer Dr. Opportunity to work with Vikram Sarabhai. He was transferred to the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) in 1969. Here he was appointed Director of India's Satellite Launch Vehicle Project. As a result of the success of this project, India's first satellite 'Rohini' was launched into Earth orbit in the year 1980. Joining ISRO was the most important turning point in Dr. Kalam's career and when he started working on the Satellite Launch Vehicle project, he felt like he was doing exactly what he thought he was doing.
During 18-2, he also visited the US space agency NASA. Atomic scientist Raja Ramanna, under whose supervision India conducted its first nuclear test, also invited Kalam to conduct a nuclear test at Pokhran on the 18th.
In the 70's and 80's, Dr. Abdul Kalam became very famous in India for his works and success and he was ranked among the best scientists in the country. His fame soared that the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi allowed him to work on some secret projects without the approval of his cabinet.
The Government of India launched the ambitious ‘Integrated Guided Missile Development Program’ under the supervision of Dr. Kalam. He was the chief executive of the project. The project has given the country missiles like Agni and Prithvi.
From July 14 to December 15, Dr. Kalam was the Prime Minister's Scientific Adviser and Secretary of the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO). During this period, India conducted its second nuclear test. In it he played an important role. Dr. Kalam was the coordinator of this project along with R. Chidambaram. The media coverage he received during this time made him one of the country's greatest nuclear scientists.
In 19, Dr. Kalam, in collaboration with heart doctor Soma Raju, developed a low cost coronary stent. His name was 'Kalam-Raju Stent'.

During his tenure, he was known as the 'President of the People'. Towards the end of his tenure, he also expressed a desire for a second term, but due to lack of opinion among political parties, he abandoned the idea.
At the end of the 16th term of President Pratibha Patil, his name was once again discussed as the next possible President, but due to lack of consensus, he dropped the idea of his candidature.
