DRAWING COMPETITION ON ENERGY CONSERVATION
Subject: - Regarding state and national level drawing competition on energy conservation,
reference: - (1) Power Grid Corporation of India Limited, Gandhinagar letter no. - WR - II / DEH / Painting / 21 dt. 10/11/2081 (2) Ministry of Power, Government of India Letter No: 26 / PPS / AS (VKD) / 11/2021 Dt. 03/11/2071 According to the above subject and context, to state that, Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.
Gandhinagar dt. 10/11/2071 with letter from Ministry of Power, Government of India. According to the letter dated 0711/2021, the Ministry of Power (MoP) has been organizing school, state and national level drawing competitions every year since 2006 with the objective of motivating children towards energy conservation.
The activity is being carried out by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) on behalf of the Ministry of Energy with the active support of CPSUs under the Ministry and the State Education Department. POWERGRID Gandhinagar has been appointed as the nodal office in the state of Gujarat for organizing the above competitions.
This year in Group-A, Std-6, 8, 9 and in Group-B, Std-9, 8, 10, competitions are planned according to two groups. The themes for which are (1) Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, Energy Efficien India and (2) Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, Cleaner Planet. Students will have to personally register for the state level drawing competition online from 01 November 2021 to 31 November 2021 at www.bee-studentsaward.in. They have organized a state level drawing competition from 9th December to 10th December 2021.
For the first, second and third place students in the state level and national level drawing competition, consolation prize distribution has been organized. Details of the name nodal officer of the state are attached herewith. This year, on the occasion of "Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav", it has been decided to celebrate 5 years of independence on the theme of energy efficient India. So that students, teachers and parents can be made aware of the importance of energy conservation.

Details of drawing competition and list of state level nodal officers have been uploaded on www.beeinda.gov.in. After the online registration of the students in person, drawing competitions will be organized at the following places.
Power Grid Subcentre, Gandhinagar, Kutch, Vadodara, Surat, Banaskantha (Details of the place are included in the enclosure with this) In order to give necessary instructions in this regard as well as to ensure proper organization of competitions in liaison with the aforesaid nodal agency, immediate action is required from your level as per rules.

Some salient features and other details of the painting competitions
(1) The theme of topic of the painting competition for School level for both Category-A & B shall be as under :-
Category-A (Class V, VI & VII) &
Category-B (Class VIII, IX & X): i)
azadi ka amrit Mahotsav. Energy Efficient India. ii) IS Azadi ka amrit Mahotsav.

(2) State Level Painting Competition:
1. The interested/concerned Schools would register themselves on web- portal known as www.bee-studentsaward.in
2. Individual students would also be eligible to register themselves through Nodal officers or web- portal known as www.bee-studentsaward.in
3. Nodal Agency of the respective State /UT may identify one or more Nodal Schools (depending upon number of registrations) in the Capital City or other citites to organize State Level Painting Competition.
4. Nodal School must be big enough to accommodate participants following COVID protocols and must provide written acceptance to undertake such competition.
5. Nodal Agency would conduct the State Level Painting Competition of 2 hours in such Nodal School for both 'A' and 'B' Groups separately for the registered participants from 1st December to 10th December, 2021 positively.
Painting competition may be conducted in batches or in multi session during 1 Dec to 10th Dec 2021
6. Digital Participation Certificates under the signatures of Director General, BEE and the concerned School Principals can only be issued to those participants whose names have been upload in predefined excel format by the concerned school or Nodal Officers in portal.
7. A common or separate selection committee/jury for Groups *A' & 'B' comprising of 5 to 7 renowned persons from the field of Art, drawing teachers, officials from organizers, official from SDA and State Government's education department will be constituted by the Nodal officials in consultation with State/UT Education department
8. The Committee of Experts/Jury of that particular State/UT will select 13 best paintings for respective Groups separately on the day of competition itself as per Evaluation Criteria.

Prizes are as follows
1ST Prize – Rs. 50,000/-,
2nd Prize - Rs. 30,000/-,
3rd Prize - Rs. 20,000/- &
Ten consolation prizes of Rs. 7,500/- each.
9. Nodal Officials would be responsible for quality scanning and its uploading on the BEE portal by 11th December, 2021
(4) National Level Painting Competition : The selection Committee will adjudge scanned paintings of Ist 2nd 3rd winners of State Level on the basis of Evaluation Criteria for the National Level Awards on 12th December, 2021 for the following prizes
1ST Prize - Rs.1,00,000/-,
2d Prize-01 nos. of Rs. - 50,000/-,
3rd Prizes - 01 nos, of Rs. 30,000-,
10 Nos. consolation prizes @ 15,000/- each.
National Painting Competition on Energy Conservation 2021:
Organized by Ministry of Power, Government of India. Dear Dr. Vihad Rae, As you may be aware, the Ministry of Power, Govemment of India with an ain to motivate the children towards energy conservation have been organizing School, State and National level Painting Competitions, every year, since 2005.
This activity is being executed by Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) on behalf of Ministry of Power with the active support of CPSUS under Ministry and State Education Departments. This competition could not be undertaken in the last year due to COVID pandemic.

Around 85 Lakh students from various parts of the country participated in the painting competition held in 2019. The sincere efforts of the Education Department of the State in facilitating the Painting Competition gets recognized for their valuable support and ensuring maximum participation from their State. 2. I may like to mention that the Ministry of Power has now decided to re-energize the campaign on energy conservation from this year, i.e., 2021.
4. This year we would like to celebrate 75h Year of Independence with theme of "Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav - Energy Efficient India" with the active cooperation of State Governments/UTS. This will further help in sensitizing the students, teachers and parents about the concept and importance of energy conservation. The details of the Painting Competition and list of State level Nodal Officers are uploaded on www.beeindia.gov.in. Students of 5th, 6th & 7t"standard under Group 'A' and students of 8h, 9h & 5. 10th standard under Group 'B' are eligible to participate in the competition.
Timeline for online registration for the State Level Competition would be from 1st November, 2021 to 30th November, 2021 I request you to kindly advise officials of the Education Department to facilitate and ensure participation of the schools and their students by extending all possible assistance to the Nodal Officer deputed by the CPSUS (list enclosed) for making this event a grand success.
